A Review on Sabang, Indonesia

In geography lessons we know the City of Sabang as the westernmost city in Indonesia. Administratively, Sabang is within the province of Aceh, but Sabang is located on Pulau Weh.

Sabang has many small islands scattered on the north and west sides with Weh Island as its largest island, and Rondo Island as the northernmost island. The city of Sabang is widely known for its impressive panoramic natural beaches. Not surprisingly, Sabang is the host of various marine festivals such as Sail Sabang in 2017 and the April Sabang Marine Festival this year. Sabang now also has a Sabang Yacht Club that is connected with other Yacht Clubs in Southeast Asia.

The type of accommodation is quite complete, from barracks, homestays to cottages. What tourists need to pay attention to is the rules for women. Iboih Beach is included in the Aceh region which has a Muslim majority population and has laws that are quite different from other areas. For female tourists, there are regulations not to wear bikinis or swimwear. Even on Thursdays and Fridays, tourists are not allowed to go to Iboih Beach.

This Sarang Cave is often called the Raja Ampat of Sabang. The Sarang Cave is actually a cave that is a nest for swallows. There are seven caves located at the foot of cliffs and hills of protected forest. These seven caves stand firmly on the blue sea of Pulau Weh which is directly adjacent to the Indian Ocean. It's guaranteed that you can never forget the scenery here.
Visiting Sabang is certainly not complete without taking a photo in front of Indonesia's zero kilometer monument. Because of its location in the forest area, don't be surprised if along the way to the monument you will find lots of monkeys walking freely. The zero kilometer high monument reaches 43.6 meters with four majestic supporting pillars. The facilities around the tourist area are very adequate. You can easily find everything from eating places to toilets and souvenir shops here.
Not only can you play in the sandy beach area, here you will also be spoiled with a line of magnificent corals like a crown. Even now you can jump from the top of this rock, you know. For safety, don't worry, the depth of the water under this reef is only about 4 to 5 meters without any rocks under it.

Introduction:-

Sabang*is a town name on an island north of*Banda Aceh*on the northern tip of*Sumatra. Strictly speaking, the island's name is*Weh Island* and Sabang is the main town on the north coast, but the names are often used interchangeably. Among locals the place is more often referred to as "Sabang" but among tourists it is well known as "Pulau Weh". The island is best known for its snorkelling and diving.


There's not much to see in the city of Sabang. Head straight to either Gapang or Iboih beaches (40-50 minutes from the ferry).
The main reason to go to Pulau Weh is for the beaches. Relaxing, swimming, snorkelling, diving. Don't worry about doing anything else. There is now a yoga studio so it is also becoming a great place for yoga teacher training.

There are no nightclubs or bars on Pulau Weh, if you like to party this is the wrong place to go. Alcohol is generally forbidden in the entire Aceh province, however some places may have it available. Beer (IDR25,000) and banana brandy (80,000 Rp) makes up the selection of the local poison.
Popular places for a sundowner at Iboih includes*Ozone Restaurant*and*Olala. Oong's, Iboih Inn and Yulia's all have beer in the fridge for sale, if you prefer drinking at home.
