Salzburg has a history with art and culture, so it is not only a city designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but also as a city with "extraordinary value for humanity". Like Vienna, Salzburg is a Baroque city with architecture that will make you feel as if you are entering a fantasy world.
The Baroque-style architecture in the city was designed by two Italian architects, Vincenzo Scamozzi and Santino Solari, to the point of being dubbed "Rome in the North", you know! Many housing and shops from the Middle Ages have also been preserved well to this day.
Besides being famous as the location for filming the movie The Sound of Music, Salzburg is also famous as the birthplace and hometown of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Mozart was born in Salzburg in 1756 on Getreidegasse and lived in Makartplatz. Now, the two historical buildings have been turned into museums and tourist destinations, so you can visit this place to see what the past life of this famous music composer is like. Interestingly, even if you are not someone who is crazy about Mozart, you will definitely end up buying Mozart-themed souvenirs too because you will most likely see Mozart's face or hear his music in almost all souvenirs sold in Salzburg!

One of the features of the Salzburg is its relatively close distance between attractions and popular tourist destinations. Unlike the traditional hangar which is only used to store airplanes, Hangar-7, apart from aircraft, also has several collections of helicopters. and F1 racing cars. At least about 25 historical aircraft on display in this area. This modern architectural building is one of the main landmarks in Salzburg due to its airfoil shape and the entire exterior walls of the building are made of glass. Schloss Leopoldskron is a 3-star hotel building located in Leopoldskron-Moos, southern Salzburg region. The hotel is about 2 km away from the Altstadt. Formerly the hotel building was the Austrian Royal Palace which was built in 1736. The palace was built on an area of 7 hectares by order of Prince Leopold Anton Eleutherius von Firmian. This building has a Rococo architecture and in the front yard there is a pond called the Leopoldskroner Weiher. Since 1947 this building has been the venue for the Salzburg Global Seminar and in 2014, this building was officially converted into a hotel. Despite being a hotel, Schloss Leopoldskron maintains its classic values and history, and is part of the Historic Hotels of Europe.

Until now, this place is recognized as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, and has become one of the best recommended tourist attractions in eastern Europe. Why is it called the most beautiful? Because every side of this city is very charming, both for its architecture and for its natural scenery.

This beautiful city stretches along both banks of the River Salzach. It is also considered the romantic Old Town, where the city's neighborhood has a typical density of medieval streets. There are cobblestone courtyards that are fun to explore, as are the large residential square between Neutor and the Neugebäude district.

Salzburg is hitherto known as the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Obviously there are various festivals here featuring Mozart's music. Even the melody that rings every day in the glockenspiel is a melody inspired by Mozart's works.

Salzburg is an Austrian city on the border of Germany, with views of the Eastern Alps. The city is divided by the Salzach River, with medieval and baroque buildings of the pedestrian Altstadt (Old City) on its left bank, facing the 19th-century Neustadt (New City) on its right. The Altstadt birthplace of famed composer Mozart is preserved as a museum displaying his childhood instruments.

Salzburg is a very popular tourist destination and famous for mainly four things: Its Baroque architecture and general prettiness (the old town is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site); as the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; the world-class Salzburg Festival, a series of opera, concerts and theatre performances.

I have been to all the places you are going and I would definitely say Salzburg is worth the trip. With only one day you will probably be sorry you don't have more, but it is a tourist friendly city and very walkable so in a day you can see and do a lot. It's a lovely city. It is absolutely worth the side trip.

The perfect amount of time to visit in Salzburg is four full days. A 4-day suggested itinerary for Salzburg is basically the same as our three-day stay but with some extra wiggle room for dividing your time.

Salzburg is synonymous as the birthplace of Mozart and the shooting location for the legendary musical film Sound of Music. Many also traveled to Salzburg, Austria as well as visiting Hallstatt, Austria's picturesque village which is quite remote. When I arrived at the city center of Salzburg, my first impression of this city was: It feels like a city colonized by Asians. There are more Asian tourists than natives. At the foot of the Alps, the city of Salzburg is known as a strong salt trading town during the Middle Ages. The White Gold is mined from the many salt mines around Salzburg. The name of the city itself literally means 'salt fort' or 'salt fortress'.

During World War II, unlike its neighbor, Munich, where many parts of the city were destroyed by war, Salzburg survived World War II with very little damage. Hence, the buildings in the old city of Salzburg are still in their original condition. The architecture of the old city, which is filled with buildings in a baroque architectural style, is one of the tourist attractions for a trip to Salzburg, Austria. The first place I visited while traveling to Salzburg, Austria because of its location in the middle of the city. Mirabell Palace was once the residence of an Austrian prince which is now a venue for classical music concerts. Mirabell Palace is free to visit, so take your time exploring Schloss Mirabell. Also take the time to stop by the Marble Hall which is named as one of the most beautiful wedding halls in the world.
For me, Mirabell Palace is just okay, what's interesting is that Mirabell Gardens is right next to the palace. From a row of unsightly colorful flowers, lush green trees inviting people to sit on the bench below, to the Pegasus fountain which is one of the shooting locations for the film Sound of Music is here. I also had time to explore another part of the garden which was filled with sculptures of grim-faced dwarves. Legend has it that these statues were once alive

If you are on vacation in Salzburg, Austria would not be complete without a stop at the fortress castle which sits atop a hill and overlooks the Altstadt (Salzburg's old town). The main tourist attraction in Salzburg was built in 1077 and was the largest castle in Europe at that time. To get to the castle, I had to first pass through the old town of Salzburg, then climb the hill for 30 minutes. Actually, you can also ride the funicular or the Festungsban, just because the autumn air feels good against your skin, so Kyle and I ended up climbing the hill all afternoon. If you want to ride the funicular, the ticket is 7.10 Euro per person.

The Hohensalzburg Fortress is quite spacious. There are many courtyards that can be explored here, as well as museums and rooms. Unfortunately when I went there again, the museum and its rooms were closed. But I'm not really sorry because I just listen to the museum. The best part of visiting the fortress was the awesome view over Salzburg and the countryside seen from the tower terrace of the fort. The view is cool, abissss…. From the top of the tower I can see a collection of baroque buildings in the city of Salzburg, the clear Salbach river dividing the city, to the Austrian countryside that looks blanketed in green grasslands.
