Real Madrid gained legendary club status under the leadership of Santiago Bernabeu Yeste, who played for this team from 1912 to 1927. He also served as club president from 1943 to 1978. He also built Chamartin and Ciudad Deportiva which destroyed by civil war. In 1953, the Bernabeu began to fill the list of players with the best players from various countries in the world. One of them is Alfredo di Stefano, Argentine-born football star and later became the most shining star in Spain.
This makes Real Madrid being the first multinational club in the world. On January 4, 1955, the council decided that the Chamartin field be called the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium . Real Madrid's popularity and victory is increasing and has won a prestigious trophy from the Copa Del Rey, La Liga, to the European Champions League.
In 2000, FIFA chose Real Madrid as the best football team of the 20th century. Not only that, Real Madrid even won the European Champions League award for up to 13 titles. Three of the 13 titles won in a row, namely in the 2015-2016 season, 2016-2017, 2017-2018.
