To comply with Brazilian government authorities to restrict non-essential business, AngloGold Ashanti said today its Mineração Serra Grande S.A. will temporarily suspend its operations.
Earlier this week the company lost production at Mponeng after the South African government announced a 21-day nationwide lockdown.
The company said it is also withdrawing its guidance for 2020.
"The company had a good start to the year, and – notwithstanding an anticipated impact of 30,000oz – 40,000 oz from operations that are suspended at this stage (less than 2% of annual production) – AngloGold Ashanti currently remains on track to meet its annual guidance. Nonetheless, given the uncertainties with respect to future developments, including duration, severity and scope of the COVID-19 pandemic and the necessary government responses to limiting its spread, AngloGold Ashanti has decided to withdraw its market guidance at this time," said the company in a news release.

Monthly:Strong Buy traded sharply higher today, breaking above the downside resistance line drawn from the peak of March 10th. However, that rate still stays within the consolidative zone that has been containing most of the price action since March 18th. That area is between the 1.6610 and 1.7020 barriers. Although there are decent chances for some further advances, we would stay neutral for now and we would start looking north as soon as the upper bound of that consolidative zone gets broken.
Such a break may wake up more bulls, who could decide to climb towards the high of March 18th, at around 1.7255. They may decide to take a break after reaching that zone, thereby allowing a small retreat. However, as long as such a retreat stays limited above the 1.7020 hurdle, we would expect buyers to recharge and shoot again. This time, they may breach the 1.7255 level and perhaps put the 1.7430 obstacle on their radars. That barrier is marked as a resistance by a small intraday swing high formed on March.
the pair price already touched daily support 1 level (1.7380) and above trend line.
Now the price try to move up ward.
I think the price may touch daily pivot point (1.7460).
so buy now from 1.7401
the pivot point will be my target

Petra Diamonds said today that it is withdrawing guidance after scaling down its mines to operate at a minimum level.
The miner is complying with South Africa's directive, a nationwide lockdown to control the spread of COVID-19.
Petra also withdrew from a tender after poor attendance, deteriorating market conditions and opportunistic bids.
"Petra’s fifth diamond sale of FY 2020, with tenders in both South Africa and Antwerp, commenced on Thursday 19 March and was due to close on Thursday 26 March. However, sensing the rapid deterioration of market conditions, particularly due to travel restrictions, factory and retail closures, and the spread of COVID-19 in South Africa, the company brought forward the closure of its South African sale to Monday 23 March," said the company in a news release.

The CAD is under pressure amid declining oil prices amid the coronavirus pandemic. WTI has declined over 1.70% while Brent has plunged over 3%. The two crude brands trade below $23 and $26, respectively. Canada is an oil-dependent economy, which is why its national currency reacts to any major change in the oil market.
Investors are pricing in the declining oil demand amid the economic crisis triggered by the global pandemic. Besides this, Saudi Arabia has recently escalated a price war with Russia by boosting output and cutting sales prices.
Oil producers are experiencing forced output cuts for the first time in over three decades. Crude suppliers from Canada are already taking measures.
Oil giants are announcing major spending cuts. Royal Dutch Shell, Total SA, and Equinor announced that they would cut spending and halt buyback plans for a while.
Goldman Sachs said in a note to clients that the oil industry should be ready for the second round of spending cuts.
“We see US oil production falling almost 1.4 mn bpd over five quarters post 2Q20 based on reduced drilling (i.e., before considering shut-ins of existing wells that are likely to be needed) with covered company capex down 35% [year-on-year] in 2020,” the bank said.
Considering the current circumstances, some analysts believe can briefly tumble to as low as $10 per barrel. Refineries are running out of storage and might be forced to cut processing. JBC Energy said:
“In such an environment, it is as possible for Brent prices to briefly go to $10 per barrel as it was back in 1986 or 1998.”
As for the sterling, the British currency continues to recover after the central bank left the interest rate unchanged at 0.10%.
The country is fighting the COVID-19 outbreak by imposing tighter measures. Even Prime Minister Boris Johnson has recently tested positive on the new virus. Thankfully, he shows mild symptoms.

GBP/CAD traded sharply higher today, breaking above the downside resistance line drawn from the peak of March 10th. However, that rate still stays within the consolidative zone that has been containing most of the price action since March 18th. That area is between the 1.6610 and 1.7020 barriers. Although there are decent chances for some further advances, we would stay neutral for now and we would start looking north as soon as the upper bound of that consolidative zone gets broken.
Such a break may wake up more bulls, who could decide to climb towards the high of March 18th, at around 1.7255. They may decide to take a break after reaching that zone, thereby allowing a small retreat. However, as long as such a retreat stays limited above the 1.7020 hurdle, we would expect buyers to recharge and shoot again. This time, they may breach the 1.7255 level and perhaps put the 1.7430 obstacle on their radars. That barrier is marked as a resistance by a small intraday swing high formed on March 13th.

After big inflows last week, holdings in gold ETFs tracked by Bloomberg increased by another 16 metric tons Monday, putting them above 90 million ounces or over 2,800 tons for the first time, the bank pointed out.
“The orgy of money-printing by central banks and the massive increase in national-debt levels point to continuing robust demand for gold as a safe haven,” said Commerzbank analyst Carsten Fritsch. Meanwhile, platinum ETFs tracked by Bloomberg posted a “massive” outflow of nearly 150,000 ounces Monday, Fritsch said.

I am guided by indicators Stochasis (7,5,3) which break high and fibbo indicator trend down and assuming that there are several possible markets trend is overbought then I will use the trapping strategy with market position BUY I predict this pair have bullish direction
