Bhai sahi kaha position ko khula rakhne ka koi bhi time fix nahi hota hai jab tak hum chahe apne trade ko khula rakh sakte hai bhai, waise agar order sahi hai to wait kar sakte hai nahi to bhai jaldi band kar dena hota hai.

well there is not limit at all in trading forex. you can keep your trade open for as much long as you can. But it also depends upon your capitals somewhat because you can loose your capital totally if the trend has totally took the opposite position. Also i would want to say that trend are generally for 2 or 3 months after that they revert back so yeah 02 years won't be needed.

There is no limit to the amount of time that an already opened trade can stay opened. But for a pending other you can specify the date and time you will like the other to expire such that if the order is not triggered till that time then the trade will be automatically deleted.

I think that the answer on your question depend on your style of trading , if you are a scalping trader you should close your positions quickly and the contrary if you are a Swing trader but the most important thing is that you are the only who decide when you close your positions and no one can control you in this thing.
