In my opinion, it depends on what kind of trading system you use. Is it scalper, intraday or swing, 'cause those kind trading system has different pips target also. What kind of trader are you, if you trading intraday, 50 pips should be your target. But I'm a scalper, I quit trading in the day when I already tired and making profit hundreds pips.

Peoples of this forum are talking about pips target but I think pips does not matter. One thing is important that how much lots size you open, if you open 1 lot and you take 20 pips profit, that is you earn only 20 cents in cent account and the other way if you open big lot size 100 then you take only 20 pips profit that is 20$, so pips are not important only important lot size.

Its hard to tell. it depends on the number of positions opened by the trader. And different currency pairs have different volatility. so the exact pips cant be determined. some pairs may give you 10-50 and some may give you 100-500 like EUR-USD and USD-JPY

Yes, more than 500 pips is possible in forex. Nothing is impossible in forex. However I have not met such huge pips before. The largest pips that I encounter was 172 pips.

nice topic.in forex market the price makes very very minute movements and there are lot of flucuations in market.if a trader is scalper then his maximum pips can be unlimited ( but it is not possible )
but for day traders it depend on the pair.for example in eurjpy pair,there was a day when the pair made almost 600-700 pips a day.So if the trader had caught the movement properly he could have made the pips.

For this , we have to take a lot of risk , such risk that can make our accounts vanished in just few hours. The greed of such earning is not good . This can be the ending of our trade profits history.

A trader can make up to 1000 pips in one day if he trades multiple pairs and if many of them are volatile. A trader can even make up to 2000 pips trading gold in one day, so there is no limit to what number of pips a trader can achieve daily as long as his strategy can accommodate it.

In forex pips doesn't count. the real thing is pip value. For example a trader makes 100 pips with .1 lot size. so he made 10$. but another trader got only 15 pips with 1 lot size and his profit was 15$ so it doesnt matters how much pips you got what matters is that how much $$$ you made.

I do not think that it is practical to targets so many pips in one day unless we are trading in Multiple pairs and the targets is based on some 10 currency pairs with 50 pips in each. It looks too good but in reality even making 100 pips on a daily basis is not easy my friend :)

i think it should depend on the strategy trader is trading with - usually scalpers may end up with more pips at end of day as they keep on opening and closing trades at small intervals making few pips in each trade, also it would depend on the day as there are few days when market has big movements and so we can make large number of pips e.g. the day when gold traveled from 1637 to 1710 level.
