High Leverage V/s low leverage

Leverage means, use borrowed capital. It is always good to start a business with own money on which we do not have to pay interest. But in investment market it has become a culture to come with high leverage. If you use 1 USD and you get 1:100 leverage so you are getting 99USD as borrowed money. By using borrowed money you can earn more but chances are there you will lose more because fear and greed will cloud your sense of executing the trade.

Let us take EUR/USD
Average Equity Required-1:100 -- 110 USD
1:1000---11 USD

Here you can see. If one has USD 300 in account , and he uses a leverage of 1:100 , buy or sell 1 mini lot of EUR/USD , he has 190 USD to give room to market fluctuation. If he uses a standard stop loss 30 PIPs than he has 6 chances to remain in the market. If he uses 1:1000 leverage and uses 110 USD , and buy or sell 10 mini lots and uses standard s/l 30 pips. He can not survive even a single chance.

So leverage only benefit in using using initial equity but the fund to give room to market fluctuation is same.
If you want to trade 1 mini lot of EUR/usd and 200 USD to bear with market ups downs, Now If you get 1:1000 you need 211 usd and in case you opt 1:100 you need 311 USD. So basically high leverage is not going to give you much benefit if you are a trader( Not a gambler).

In my personal view, I do not like to use higher leverage, because although higher leverage help a lot to create bigger quantity position with available of smaller margin money, but if market goes against of our position with high leverage then there is chances of blow up the whole margin, 1:200 is a great ( mild risk) leverage for beginners.
