I guess we could get the overall trend of forex moving through some news, if you are smart enough to read and grab the idea from it. And indicators show us the all time movement with detailed prices, which will help us decide to which point we are gonna set up the position, we can't just say it's simple going upward or downward, have to give some statistics to make some sense, except you are doing some option trading, where only up or down matters.

Hi thanks for the quote, but I just am wondering what the indicator is here? Isn't it the candlestick chart? And from your words it sounds like some some indicator provided by different systems which tell you the trend by words and even give you some suggestion about what kind of position you could open to make some profit? If so I guess it's much better to analyze the trend by yourself with whatever tool is convenient to you, coz those indicators are only just words they write for you to read, they ain't gonna take the responsibility if you don't win through their advice.

Couple of years ago, I did some forex with local bank, with real money but no leverage. I just watched the candlesticks in overall image, and did the trade according to the trend, without analyzing anything, and consequently I didn't gain that often, I did try to read some articles but got lazy after some days so I used to trade without referring any professional or technical method. I didn't make any profit at all, but fortunately it was with no leverage so I was sort of okay, and kept some Euro in the balance and didn't trade any more. Now I am thinking to start the game again, but treat it more seriously, since I am reading and practicing through demo account, I'll do the real trades when I'm ready.

I guess you took Candlestick like something exact; if it is this then you do a, if that you do b. See, Candlestick is more of an art than science.
