Prague city is a famous tourist destination in Europe. The old city is full of gothic buildings and is very well preserved to make tourists visit the capital of the Czech Republic. When taking a walk to Prague, you seem to be invited to walk down a time tunnel to Prague's golden age. Evidence of Prague's superiority includes Prague Castle and Charles Bridge. Prague city tourist center is in the old town complex. Here you can find classic gothic style churches and houses and Vienna secessions flanked by cobbled streets.
Classic buildings in the old city of Prague bear witness to Prague's long history from being part of the duke of Bohemia, the Holy Roman Empire, the Austrian Empire, Czechoslovakia, to the Czech Republic. At the end of the old town, across the Charles Bridge is Prague Castle on the hilltop. Prague Castle is a castle complex built since the 9th century which is now the official office of the president of the Czech Republic. In the past, Prague castle served as the residence of the King of Bohemia, Holy Roman Emperor and President of Czechoslovakia. To reach the castle on the other side, you have to cross the Charles Bridge which is phenomenal. This stone bridge is decorated with statues of saints on both sides, giving an impression of both sinister and beauty. The Charles Bridge, which was built on the orders of King Charles IV, is said to be one of the most beautiful bridges in the world.
When you enter the castle complex, you will feel as if you are entering a special city. Some of the buildings in the Prague castle complex include St. Vitus Cathedral, The Old Royal Palace, The Story of Prague Castle, Basilica of St. George, Daliborka Tower, Powder Tower, and Rosenberg Palace. The most popular building in the Prague castle complex is St. Vitus Cathedral. You can recognize this gothic-style cathedral from outside the castle walls because of its towering towers. If you are going to visit Prague castle, come from 6 am to 10 pm.
