FedEx Corporation is a company engaged in providing shipping services from America based in Memphis, Tennessee. FedEx Corporation was first founded on October 2, 1997 to begin offering other services besides express delivery after Federal Express' purchase of Caliber System Inc. FDX Corporation was established to oversee all operations of the companies and divisions involved in Federal Express. In the 1980s, FedEx entered into a partnership with British Airways.

The name FedEx Corporation itself was officially used since January 2000, which previously used FDX Corporation. This name change was followed by a change in the name of the subsidiary and company division. Like Federal Express became FedEx Express, RPS became FedEx Ground, Roberts Express became FedEx Custom Critical, and Caliber Logistics and Caliber Technology merged into FedEx Global Logistics. In addition, FedEx Corporate Services was also formed which acts as a center for sales, marketing, customer service for all subsidiaries. In February 2000, FedEx acquired Tower Group International, an international logistics company, followed by taking over WorldTariff, a customs and tax information company. Then TowerGroup and WorldTariff eventually became FedEx Trade Networks.

The company's path to acquire several other companies did not stop there, in February 2004, the company took over the private company Kinko's Inc. which was renamed FedEx Kinko's. This acquisition process was carried out to expand FedEx's network access to the general public. Subsequently, the company acquired Parcel Direct again in September 2004 and changed its name to FedEx SmartPost. FedEx is now the world's leading provider of shipping services.
