Arga is one of the cities in India which has a main place for tourist destinations. Besides having amazing tourist destinations, Agra has a very strategic location. Only about 238 kilometers from New Delhi, the capital of India and 234 kilometers from the city of Jaipur. Agra is a city with many amazing historical buildings. Call it the Taj Mahal, which is one of the icons of tourist destinations in India.
Buildings in Agra are a combination of Islamic and Hindu-style buildings. And in Agra itself Muslims and Hindus live side by side. And from these two religions also emerged a new religion, namely the religion of Shikh. The city has buildings and many tourist attractions scattered throughout the city. So rather than you are confused looking for tourist destinations in Agra.

Last month, we in a group of 7 went on a holiday tour from Delhi to agra then to Jaipur. Mr chitwan, our tour guide did an excellent arrangement and our trip was very organised. We were given VIP treatment in all places and was very well take care of. Mr chitwan is very professional and very punctual which made our trip very memorable. I highly recommend mr chitwan for the golden triangle tour as he was very patient with all of us taking our time to take photographs and admire the monuments. His knowledge on the historical places were amazing as well. Good job Mr chitwan. Hope to go on our next holiday with you soon

Taj Mahal, Agra
The most recognizable building in India is the Taj Mahal and is the most famous testimony in the world. Named after Mumtaz Mahal, the beloved wife of Emperor Shah Jahan, the most beautiful of the Tombs began after her death in 1631 and took 20,000 workers over 22 years to complete. It incorporates many Islamic design elements including arches, minarets, onion-shaped domes and black ornamental calligraphy around the entrance. The Taj Mahal is constructed of finely decorated white marble inlaid with floral patterns and semi-precious stones such as jade, lapis lazuli, diamonds and pearls.

Jahan Numa Mosque
It is one of the quite magnificent buildings in Agra and one of the grandest mosques in the world. Built by Shah Jahan by employing craftsmen, sculptors, engineers and thousands of the best workers to build this mosque. The mosque was built for six years at a cost of one million rupees. It is believed that some stones before being placed in the recitation of the holy Al-Qur'an verse first. Jama Masjid is basically a mosque located in the bustling marketplace of Chandni Chowk. The design is simple but very artistic. This mosque can accommodate around 25,000 pilgrims.

Agra, city, western*Uttar Pradesh*state, northern*India. It lies in the*Indo-Gangetic Plain*on the*Yamuna (Jumna) River*about 125 miles (200 km) southeast of*Delhi. There was an early reference to an “Agravana” in the ancient Sanskrit epic*Mahabharata, and*Ptolemy*is said to have called the site “Agra.” The city was founded by Sultan Sikandar of the*Lodī dynasty*in the early 16th century to be the capital of the*Delhi sultanate. Agra also served as the*Mughal*capital during some periods of that empire. Taj Mahal

Agra Fort
Agra Fort*(sometimes called the*Red Fort), was commissioned by the conquering Mughal Emperor*Akbar the Great*in 1565, and is another of Agra's*World Heritage Sites. A stone tablet at the gate of the Fort states that it had been built before 1000 but was later renovated by Akbar. The red sandstone fort was converted into a palace during*Shah Jahan's time, and reworked extensively with*marble*and*pietra dura*inlay. Notable buildings in the fort include the*Pearl Mosque*or*Moti Masjid, the Diwan-i-Am and Diwan-i-Khas (halls of public and private audience),*Jahangir's Palace, Khās Mahal, Shīsh Mahal (mirrored palace), and the*Musamman Burj.
Akbar's Tomb, Sikandra
Sikandra, the last resting place of the Mughal Emperor*Akbar the Great, is on the Delhi-Agra Highway, only 13 kilometres (8.1 miles) from the*Agra Fort. The vast, beautifully carved, red-ochre sandstone tomb with deers, rabbits and*langurs*is set amidst a lush garden. Akbar himself planned his own tomb and selected a suitable site for it. To construct a tomb in one's lifetime was a*Turkic*custom which the Mughals followed religiously. Akbar's son*Jahangir*completed construction of this pyramidal tomb in 1613. The 99 names of Allah have been inscribed on the tomb.

Sikandar Lodi was the first ruler of the Delhi Sultanate to move his capital from Delhi to Agra in 1504, and so he is regarded as being the founder of Agra. Sikandar Lodi's son, Ibrahim Lodi, was defeated at the Battle of Panipat in 1526 by Babur, which marked the beginning of Mughal Empire.In a brief interruption in Mughal rule between 1540 and 1556, Sher Shah Suri, established the short lived Sur Empire. Agra was the capital of the Mughal Empire from 1556 to 1648, after which Shah Jahan shifted the capital to Delhi. The Mughal Empire saw the building of many monuments, especially Taj Mahal. The city was later taken by the Marathas and later still fell to the British.

1 Taj Mahal
One of the most beautiful monuments in the world, Taj Mahal is located on the banks of River Yamuna in Agra. 2 Fatehpur Sikri
Located at a distance of 40km from Agra, Fatehpur Sikri is a town in Agra district and a famous tourist attraction. A city predominantly made of red sandstone, Fatehpur Sikri was founded in 1571 century by Mughal Emperor Akbar. It is essentially a fortified city built by the king and had been the capital of his Empire for fifteen years.
3 Agra Fort
An architectural masterpiece, The Red Fort of Agra or Agra Fort was built by Emperor Akbar in 1573. It is located on the right bank of the River Yamuna and is made entirely of red sandstone. Often referred to as the "Baby Taj Mahal", the tomb of Itimad-ud-daulah is a Mughal mausoleum and often regarded as a copy of the Taj Mahal. This is the first tomb in India made entirely of marble.
