In a beautiful seaside atmosphere, this cozy Mediterranean port city lives up to the local saying "a piece of heaven falls to earth." Under the warm sunshine of the southern sun, the town square surrounded by palm trees is full of life, and the churches are sparkling with brightly colored azulejo domes.

As the old capital of the kingdom of Valencia, the city is rich in cultural heritage. Magnificent historical monuments, such as the 15th-century Silk Exchange, the 18th-century Marquise Palace, and the Museum of Fine Arts, tell the story of a wealthy merchant and aristocratic past. But Valencia has entered the 21st century with enthusiasm. The sleek Institute of Modern Art, along with the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences immerse visitors into a brave new world of artistic and scientific discoveries.

The City of Art and Sciences (CAC)

One of the interesting tourist attractions in Spain recommended in Valencia is Ciutat des kes Arts i les Ciencies (CAC) or The City of Art and Sciences. This place is a famous entertainment and cultural center.
The City of Art and Sciences has a magnificent architecture and is one of the modern tourist attractions in Spain that occupies open space. This place is said to be important and popular for local and international tourists.
Interestingly, the CAC was built on a river that had dried up. So that its uniqueness will be very visible from the landscape. There are at least 6 core buildings that also act as iconic buildings with various functions. Starting from Oceanography, IMAX Cinema, to a beautiful park.

If you want to enjoy a great attraction in Valencia, Las Fallas is a highly recommended attraction. Las Fallas is a light-themed festival combined with unique and very entertaining traditional elements. This attraction treat is also unique because it uses gunpowder. So that there will be lots of smoke, light, and other interesting things during the parade. Not to mention the marching band that was present, complete with several contests such as a beauty contest and fireworks party.
Las Fallas also features ninots. Ninots is a giant statue with a height of up to 6 meters. this statue will be burned at the end of the event. Most of the themes of ninots that are often held are big corrupt figures

The next tourist spot in Valencia is La Lonja. La Lonja has been one of the important places in Valencia since ancient times. Because in the 15th century, La Lonja was one of the economic and cultural centers in Europe. This place is now a UNESCO world heritage site. There is a stunning building with a distinctive classic look. The exterior looks like simple castle architecture. The inside has quite interesting details.
Another name for La Lonja is The Silk Exchange. This building takes the style of Gothic architecture and is one of the buildings built during the late Gothic era in Europe. The dominant color of this building is white.

Torres de Serranos or Serrano Tower is a twin tower which is also the most important part of this city of Valencia. This tower has an important historical story. Because in the past, its function was as the main gate. This tower has long been the gateway to Valencia, especially for people who come from the direction of the mountains. The tower is also the city's fortress gate which is still around today. The fort in Valencia itself actually has 12 gates. But in 1865, the fort had collapsed and was destroyed. Meanwhile Torres de Serranos is one of the fort's remaining entrances. This gate is one of the largest gates and has a typical medieval gothic feel.

The next tourist spot in Valencia that still keeps historical remains in this city is the Torres de Quart. The Quart Tower is also one of the historical remains that still exists today. This tower is both a fortress and a fortress gate, just like the Serranos Tower. The Quart Tower has a gothic military style. In 1931, the Quart Tower was designated a National Monument. This building was a silent witness in various battles in the past and became the protector of the city of Valencia itself. Tourists can walk around this place and see some traces of past battles. As there are several holes in the front of the tower. These holes were formed as a result of the weapons used during the battle against France, when Napoleon wanted to attack him.

City in Spain

The port city of Valencia lies on Spain’s southeastern coast, where the Turia River meets the Mediterranean Sea. It’s known for its City of Arts and Sciences, with futuristic structures including a planetarium, an oceanarium and an interactive museum. Valencia also has several beaches, including some within nearby Albufera Park, a wetlands reserve with a lake and walking trails.

Though probably most famous for its ultra-modern City of Arts and Sciences, Valencia is a treasure trove for lovers of old and new architecture. It has remains of both its Roman foundations and its Moorish history to explore.

Valencia is worth visiting for at least 2 nights. One day you can see the City of Arts and Sciences, and the other day you can see the sights such as the Cathedral.

Valencia is a Mediterranean city and it gets its share of petty crime. However, violence is extremely rare in Valencia. Generally, Valencia is a very safe city, surprisingly so - for its size. Even the petty crime is low.

Beach holiday Valencia. Valencia is an absolutely enchanting city and should be high on the hit list of European metropolises. But that is perhaps also the great happiness of this Mediterranean port city - most city travelers are drawn to Barcelona, Madrid or Malaga. Valencia is an ideal blend of culture and beach.

You’ll find plenty of orange trees here, but the fruit known as the "Valencia orange" was actually developed in California. Travelers interested in local food should focus on paella instead. While the city contains many monuments, Valencia’s modern crown jewel is the City of Arts and Sciences, a futuristic complex of museums, cinemas, theaters, and more.

Valencia gets more than 300 days of sunshine a year and has a mild winter with little rain – basically the sunny Spanish holiday destination of our dreams. It’s impossible not to be in a good mood here, especially when sitting in the shade of palm trees under clear blue skies.

Valencia’s atmospheric Old Town is packed with street art, cafés and amazing architecture. Though home to many of Valencia’s most famous attractions, such as the Cathedral and La Lonja de la Seda, it’s also fun for exploring lesser-known sights. Wander the maze-like cobbled alleys and backstreets to escape the tourist trail (it’s completely safe to do so), and you’ll find pretty squares, tiny churches, street art and quirky cafés.
