Follow the trend is the key in big markets and even if there is a big reversal ongoing, notice my trade today from 1195 where BTC yesterday showed weakness on 4h chart and has since really nicely evolved. Now +100 pips, can easily lock at 50 profit and wait for some more move to maybe somewhere 1175 to collect full profit and then look on the price whether there is something bigger ongoing behind or this is just another retracement.

Gold is bulls .

We're seeing some more profit taking in gold on Tuesday, with the rebound in the dollar and stronger risk appetite likely contributing to the declines. Gold failed to break above $1,350 on this occasion, or hold above the February high, but that doesn't necessarily mean the rally has run its course. Price has now fallen back towards $1,320 which could be an interesting test, having previously been a notable area of resistance. A rotation off here could see last week's highs coming under pressure again.

A break below here wouldn't be particularly concerning though, as the rally that preceded it was very strong. We've only seen the rally correct by around a third now - a level that will be of interest to traders – but a deeper correction is hardly a red flag. The $1,300-1,310 area could be much more interesting, at which point we'll get a much better idea of just how bullish this market is.

Gold eyes prior peak after brief correction

Gold is continuing to edge higher today, supported to an extent by the weaker dollar, not that it held the yellow metal back much yesterday. It found strong support around $1,320 earlier this week and has since burst higher with the previous peak around $1,350 in its view. A break of this could propel gold higher, although it will have to be matched with momentum because as we saw last week, the absence of this saw it reverse course very quickly.

The shallow correction earlier this week will be encouraging for gold bulls, having only retraced around a third of the previous rally, although this optimism may fade fast if it runs out of steam prior to the peak. Risk appetite in the markets is likely to work against gold but the dollar looking vulnerable is clearly supportive.
