The EUR/GBP traded stable to slightly higher on Wednesday at 0.9033 after the currency pair hit its highest levels for six months yesterday. Sterling gained extra downside yesterday following the sharp rebound in the greenback and mixed reports from the UK labour market. In fact, the jobless rate stayed put at 3.8% and Claimant Count Change ticked higher by 38.0K during June. On the Brexit front, candidates to succeed Theresa May, Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt, left the ‘no deal’ scenario on the table on Monday after calling the North Ireland backstop as ‘dead’. In the UK, fresh monthly inflation data for June will be released at 9:30 GMT+1. Later in Europe, Inflation data for June in the Eurozone will be announced at 10:00 GMT+1.
