Shukla revealed that there will be
no immediate chances of Indo-Pak
cricket revival despite the two
boards signing an MOU agreeing to
play six bilateral series until 2022.


When PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan
recently met his Indian counterpart
Jagmohan Dalmiya in Kolkata and then
BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur in New
Delhi, speculations were rife that an
India-Pakistan series might happened
soon.
But, IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla revealed
that there will be no immediate chances
of Indo-Pak cricket revival despite the
two boards signing an MOU
(Memorandum of Understanding)
agreeing to play six bilateral series until
2022.
Shukla stated that there are a lot of
issues to be sorted out before a final
decision can be made. The main bone of
contention seems to be the venue.
Pakistan are not in position to host India,
while India are not keen on playing on a
neutral venue.
"Though talks between the boards of two
countries have held recently, but there
are no immediate chances of revival of
cricketing ties between India and
Pakistan. But there are two to three
issues which need to be sought before
taking a final decision on resuming
India-Pakistan cricketing ties," Shukla
said.
"As per itinerary, India will have to play in
Pakistan, but at present its not possible
and we are also not in favour of playing
at a neutral venue," he added.
