GBP is strengthening against USD and JPY but weakening against EUR.

GBP is supported by strong Wednesday’s Markit Service PMI data. However, the overall background remains negative due to the difficulties in the Brexit negotiations. There is still no unity inside Teresa May's office. The Prime Minister has developed a new plan for customs cooperation with the EU: after leaving the EU, the UK will be able to set its own tariffs for goods coming into the country. In this case, transit goods going to the EU through the territory of the kingdom will have to be taxed by the duties of the EU. However, the prospects for implementing this plan are vague, the main British negotiator David Davis has already called it inoperative.

Monday data on the Manufacturing PMI in the UK showed a slight increase in June instead of decline: from 54.3 to 54.4 points.
On Tuesday, investors expect the publication of PMI Construction Index in the UK. In June, the indicator may decline from 52.5 to 52.0, which will put pressure on GBP. This week, investors will also focus on the speech of the head of the Bank of England Mark Carney (July 5) and the following cabinet meeting on the issue of Brexit at the end of the week.
