. Since swap fee is charged so it doesn't matter for the broker . If the account is swap free then it will not hurt the trader as well . However few brokers mention it very clearly that a position can be opened for this period of time . If this is not mentioned you can remain open your trade for infinite period .

The length of an open position duration depends o your strategy and also if the order is in profit or loss. You may need to let a position stay longer if its in loss and you are sure the price will go towards your direction eventually and that your balance is enough
