well it depends on you, if you are a swing trader then there is a possibility you can hold the position for about 1-5 days while as a scalper you can hold position less than 3 minutes and also for day trader it is just for a day I am kind of short trade someone I have never traded forex for more than a day with open positions, I am not an expert so I think that's the reason too, so the fear for me is a big factor for long trading nto but it is possible to trade long even for years during trading goes your way.
