the elliott wave is a complete description of how majority of trader behave or react. according ralph nelson elliott the financial market move in measurable repetitive patterns.
and you can find out those patterns and predict the next move of the market.

the elliott wave pattern( impusive and corrective waves)



according elliott the market iniatially move in five waves.this basic patterns build to form five and three-wave structures of increasingly larger size (larger degree).

Waves 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 together complete a larger impulsive sequence, labeled wave (1). The impulsive structure of wave (1) tells us that the movement at the next larger degree of trend is also to the up side. It also tell us to expect a three-wave correction. in this case, a downtrend. That correction, wave (2), is followed by waves (3), (4) and (5) to complete an impulsive cycle of the next larger degree, labeled as wave 1. At that point, again, a three-wave correction of the same degree occurs, labeled as wave 2 in blue.

MOTIVE WAVES (impulse or diagonal)

impulse is the most common impulsive waves.

WAVES EXTENSION

according elliott there are extension in most of impulses. extention mean an impulse is divided into five sub waves.



diagonal triangle

diagonal is most common specially in forex market. it also moves in five waves but in converging or contracting channel.
there are two types of diagonal
(1) ending diagonal
(2) leading diagonal

(1) ending diagonal
the internal structure of this move 3,3,3,3,3.
wave 4 must enter into the price territory of wave 1.
and mostly it is found in fifth impulsive wave or the c wave of abc correction.
