Can fear be used to avoid the loss in trade?

I think that the fear from the loss is a hurdle for the traders to make a profit , in my opinion you can't use the fear to avoid the loss because if you do so you will lose the confidence and you will not open any positions , if you want to succeed in this business you should be courageous enough and don't fear from the market.
