As you said correctly that recovery from loss is very difficult. When a trader loses most of his capital,
self-confidence is lost. Since then repeated mistakes made. This is a very difficult cycle to break.
That is the reason for emphasis on the use of low leverage / exposure. A small loss will never disappoint you.
Big loss will beat your moral down to earth. Capital management is a very important task for traders.

I agree a capital loss recovery is a big headache to worry about. Especially if you've lost 50%
of your actual capital will cause severe damage to your confidence and self-esteem. Sometimes you will feel depressed
and lose the enthusiasm to trade and sometimes it will result in suicide trading. Some time like this

You are quite right. Making money from forex is not an easy thing but losing in it is quite easy and if we lose much then we need to recover first then we can make profit and which needs extra hard work and if don't keep patience in this business then its quite easy to lose in it so the best thing is that from very start we need to use money management rule so that it help us to be in profits.
